[1]

Imagine arriving at your destination, stepping out of your vehicle, and letting it handle the rest – finding a parking space, maneuvering into it, and even returning to you when summoned. This isn't a scene from a futuristic film; it's the imminent reality brought forth by OMODA&JAECOO’s VPD technology. [1]

The Dawn of "Parking Freedom": What is VPD?

At its core, OMODA&JAECOO's Valet Parking Driver technology is a sophisticated autonomous system designed to eliminate the human element from the most tedious part of driving: parking. Unlike traditional Auto Parking Assist (APA) systems that often rely heavily on clearly marked lines, VPD boasts a complete closed-loop process of "cruising for an available spot + parking into the spot" without requiring the driver to be anywhere near the vehicle.

This revolutionary approach to parking addresses the universal frustration drivers face daily. The system is designed to handle challenging scenarios, offering features that genuinely enhance convenience and safety. Let's delve into its key functionalities:

"Comes When Called": Your Car, On Demand

Picture this: you've just left a crowded music festival or a bustling mall, it's pouring rain, and your car is hundreds of meters away in a vast parking garage. With traditional systems, this means a trek. With OMODA&JAECOO’s VPD, you simply use a mobile app to control your vehicle. It will autonomously exit its parking spot and drive to a designated pickup point. The system intelligently identifies and navigates around obstacles like traffic cones, pedestrians, or other vehicles, adjusting its path in real-time. [1, 2]

"Leaves When Waved": Park It and Forget It

Upon arriving at your destination, the process is equally effortless. Instead of circling endlessly or attempting a tricky parallel park, you can simply step out of your car. The "Leaves When Waved" function allows the vehicle to autonomously search for and park in an available space after you've exited. This is truly a game-changer, especially in scenarios where time is of the essence, such as rushing to catch a train. [1, 6]

These capabilities are being demonstrated today on three of OMODA&JAECOO's SHS (Super Hybrid System) hybrid models – the JAECOO 5 SHS-H, JAECOO 7 SHS-P, and OMODA 7 SHS-P – in the presence of nearly 100 global dealer representatives, key media, and influential KOLs.

The Intelligent Core: How VPD Works

OMODA&JAECOO's VPD technology leverages a sophisticated array of advanced technologies, drawing from the same principles that are driving the broader smart parking market forward. This includes:

• Advanced Sensors and Cameras: These are crucial for real-time environmental perception, enabling the vehicle to detect available spaces, identify obstacles, and understand its surroundings with high precision.
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML): AI algorithms are the brains of the operation, analyzing vast amounts of data from sensors, predicting parking availability, and making autonomous decisions for navigation and maneuvering.
• Internet of Things (IoT) Connectivity: Seamless communication between the vehicle, parking infrastructure (if any), and the user's mobile device is facilitated by IoT. This interconnected ecosystem ensures a smooth and responsive experience. [9, 11]
• Real-time Data Analytics: The system constantly processes data to optimize parking strategies, identify trends, and refine its performance over time.

By integrating these technologies, OMODA&JAECOO has moved beyond mere parking assistance, offering a comprehensive, hands-free valet parking experience that truly solves the perennial parking headache for users.

OMODA&JAECOO's Vision: Co-Creating a Smarter Future

The launch of VPD is not just a technological showcase; it's a significant stride in OMODA&JAECOO's ambitious "New Million Mission" and their brand vision of "co-creating a better life with young people around the world." As a brand under the Chery Group umbrella, which ranked 233rd in the Fortune Global 500 in 2025, OMODA&JAECOO has rapidly become one of the fastest-growing automotive brands globally, achieving over 1 million cumulative sales in just three years.
