The world of Indian cinema is buzzing with an announcement that has sent shockwaves of joy through millions of hearts. Power couple Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, whose chemistry has captivated audiences both on and off-screen for years, have officially confirmed their impending nuptials. But this isn't just any celebrity wedding; it's 'The Wedding of VIROSH,' a heartwarming dedication to the very fans who coined their iconic couple name [1, 2]. The news, which broke on social media around February 22-23, 2026, has instantly become the most trending topic, with fans celebrating the 'happily ever after' they've long rooted for [3, 4].
Their romance, a subject of intense speculation and adoration, began subtly on the sets of their blockbuster films. Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda first ignited sparks as co-stars in the 2018 romantic comedy Geetha Govindam, a film that became a massive success and showcased their undeniable on-screen magic [1, 6]. The magic continued with the 2019 action-drama Dear Comrade, further cementing their status as a beloved on-screen pair [1, 6].
For years, rumors of a real-life romance swirled, fueled by their frequent public appearances, social media interactions, and palpable comfort with each other. Yet, the couple remained tight-lipped, navigating the intense media scrutiny and fan speculation with grace. It wasn't until their Maldives vacation in January 2023 that they publicly acknowledged their relationship, much to the delight of their vast fanbase [1]. Since then, they've been spotted together at various events, gradually offering glimpses into their enduring love story and winning over even more hearts [1]. Their journey is a testament to a bond that blossomed under the spotlight, evolving from professional camaraderie to a deeply cherished personal connection.
Long before any official confirmation or wedding plans, the creative and passionate fanbase of Rashmika and Vijay had already christened them with a unique moniker: 'VIROSH'. This blended name, a portmanteau of 'Vijay' and 'Rashmika,' became a symbol of their hopeful union, a collective dream nurtured by millions of admirers. It transcended a mere nickname, evolving into an affectionate identity for the couple within the fan community [2]. This fan-driven phenomenon is a powerful reflection of the deep emotional investment audiences have in their favorite stars, especially when a real-life fairy tale seems to be unfolding.
On February 22-23, 2026, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda took to their respective Instagram handles to share the monumental news, an announcement that was nothing short of a love letter to their fans. The couple's heartfelt message resonated deeply, acknowledging the pivotal role their fans played in their journey.
In their shared Instagram Stories post, the couple wrote:
"Our Dearest loves, Before we made any plans, before we chose anything for ourselves - you were already there. With so much love, you gave us a name. You called us 'VIROSH'. So today — with full hearts, we name our coming together in your honour. We would like to name it: 'The Wedding of VIROSH'. Thank you for holding us with so much love. You are a part of us — always. Biggest hugs and full love!"

The actual 'Wedding of VIROSH' is planned as a beautiful, intimate affair in the regal state of Rajasthan, India, followed by a grand reception in Hyderabad.
According to a viral wedding invitation and subsequent media reports, Rashmika and Vijay will exchange vows in a small, private ceremony in Udaipur on February 26, 2026. This choice of venue is no surprise; Udaipur, known as the 'City of Lakes' and adorned with opulent palaces and heritage properties, is a coveted destination for celebrity weddings seeking a blend of royalty and intimacy [4, 7].
Reports suggest several luxurious hotels are in contention or have been considered as potential venues, including The Mementos by ITC Hotels, Raffles Udaipur, and Fairmont Udaipur. These properties offer breathtaking backdrops for a truly memorable ceremony, ensuring privacy for the couple's families and closest friends.
Pre-wedding festivities, including sangeet and mehendi, are reportedly set to commence around February 24, leading up to the main event.
Following their intimate Udaipur ceremony, the couple will host a grand reception on March 4, 2026, at the prestigious Taj Krishna in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Hyderabad, a central hub for the South Indian film industry, is a fitting choice for a star-studded celebration, allowing their industry colleagues, friends, and a wider circle to share in their joy. The reception is expected to be a lavish affair, bringing together the who's who of Tollywood and beyond, celebrating the union of two of its most beloved stars [3].
